11 Sep Silver Moonshots Launches New Research Organization for Individuals, Startups and Mature organizations To Better Understand The Needs of Adults Over 50
Silver Moonshots today announced the debut of their research and education-focused organization focused on providing data on the growing population of adults over 50 to start-ups, companies, as well as to individuals. Led by seasoned executive and entrepreneur, Dr. Jon Warner, and supported by co-founders Matt Stodder and Michael Dorman, Silver Moonshots draws attention to the unmet needs of the large and growing 50+ population across the US and the world. The organization’s goal is to
encourage individuals, startups and large companies to draw on the Silver Moonshots team experience and the incredible array of people over the age of 50 in the Coachella Valley in California to help them to design better and more profitable outcomes, using direct feedback, focus groups and full co-creation activities.
The Coachella Valley has one of the highest concentrations of 50+ adults in the world in one tightly defined area (over 160,000 people in a population of 400,000). This includes a wide variety of people that are part of a well-tracked microcosm of people who want new products and services locally and whose needs can then be drawn upon to extrapolate to other communities and individual groups. This includes not only 50+ individuals of different genders, ages, ethnicities, cultural backgrounds etc., but also a wide variety of psycho-graphic or personal preferences and interests. In addition, the Coachella Valley has a number of
special/vulnerable populations including older people experiencing: Alzheimer’s/ Dementia, Blindness, Cancer, COPD, Deafness, Depression, Falls, Food insecurity, Heart disease, HIV, Homelessness, Mental illness, Obesity/Diabetes, Opioid dependency, Physical/financial abuse, Poverty, Sleep deprivation, STDs, Unpaid caregiving, Wellness shortfalls, etc.
